Sunrises Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will be aiming to get the better of each other in the Eliminator at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The winner of this game will face the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier on Friday. Like other matches, even this knockout match had plenty of standout moments which included DC skipper Shreyas Iyer's funny incident during the toss which left everyone in splits. The drama continued on the first ball of the match when Trent Boult trapped Wriddhiman Saha right in front of the stumps, but the veteran wicket-keeper batsman took a review and replays showed that there was a big inside edge. Apart from all these moments, there was also another moment which featured Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer.
It happened in the penultimate over of SRH's innings which was bowled by Trent Boult and Vijay Shankar was on strike. On the second delivery, the New Zealand speedster bowled a widish delivery outside the off stump as Shankar slashed him on the off side. The shot was perfectly executed and it seemed like the batting all-rounder would get another boundary. However, Shreyas Iyer came running and took a stunning catch at the boundary. Unfortunately, he could not hold on to it as he was about to land on the boundary. Nonetheless, he showed a great presence of mind when he saw Shikhar Dhawan at the boundary. He decided to flick the ball back to the latter but the captain made a complete mess of it. The ball landed back inside the boundary as Dhawan put his arms on his head in disappointment.
The video of the Delhi skipper's almost stunning catch was posted on Twitter. Watch it here.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to ball first. All the SRH batsmen including skipper Kane Williamson got good starts but could not convert them into big scores as Delhi bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals which restricted the 'Orange Army' to 162/8 in their 20 overs.
