Chennai Super Kings will be aiming to retain their title when they lock horns against the mighty Mumbai Indians in the final of this season's IPL. At the same time, the MS Dhoni-led side have been defeated thrice in this season by MI. The winner of this final will also go on to become the most successful team in IPL history for having won the maximum number of IPL titles.

Just like the other games, even the final had its fair share of standout moments which included an explosive start from MI's opening batsmen, CSK skipper MS Dhoni became the most successful wicket-keeper in IPL history. However, there was one moment that stood out the most and it involved Shardul Thakur.

It happened in the 13th over of MI's innings which was bowled by him and Krunal Pandya was on strike. On the third delivery, Thakur bowled a bouncer as Krunal went for a big pull shot. It was not timed well and it looked certain that Pandya was going to be holed out. But the most astonishing thing about this catch is that it was the bowler himself who took the initiative of going for the catch. He ran and grabbed the ball but at the first attempt, it looked like he would drop it. Nonetheless, he kept his focus on the ball and ended up taking an outstanding catch. The Chennai players and the fans erupted in celebrations as a distraught Krunal Pandya went back to the dugout.
