Mumbai Indians held their nerves to register a 1-run win over Chennai Super Kings in the final on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday to win their record fourth IPL title. It was a nerve-wracking contest as the winner was only determined on the last ball of the match. Lasith Malinga kept his composure in the final over and gave away just seven runs while defending nine runs and pulled off a famous victory for his side.

After this edge of the seat thriller grand finale, it was the time to give away a few awards in different categories. These awards are given to the players who put up outstanding performances with the ball, bat and on the field. In order to win the award, the contenders should compete well with the other performances in order to come out on top. There were a lot of tough choices that had to be made while deciding the played for the 'Perfect Catch of The Season' award. After giving a lot of thought, Kieron Pollard was named the unanimous choice for this award. Pollard was given this award for taking an outstanding catch at sweeper cover with one hand to dismiss Suresh Raina during MI's clash against CSK at the Wankhede Stadium. The astonishing thing about this catch was that the West Indian all-rounder was standing way ahead of the boundary rope.

Pollard was also involved in a bizarre incident during the final over of Mumbai's innings. He looked displeased after the on-field umpire Nitin Menon had failed to signal a wide ball after the ball had landed outside the wide ball mark as he flung his bat up in the air in disgust. On the very next delivery, the Trinidadian all-rounder took stance on the wide-ball mark and backed away while Dwayne Bravo was about to bowl. Umpires Nitin Menon and Ian Gould were then seen having a chat with the big man.
