When the ODI series between Australia and India began in Sydney, it was expected to be walkover for the visitors, given their dominance over the hosts in the ongoing tour as well as their form in the ODI format over the past year.
But when the first match had finished, tables had turned as the Aussies put in a wonderful all-round display to beat India by 34 runs. On a pitch which was slow, unlike its true nature in the past, the hosts posted a formidable 288 on the board before their bowlers wreaked havoc and restricted the Men in Blue for 254 for 9 in their 50 overs.
Barring Rohit Sharma, who scored a valiant century, no Indian batter managed to get going. MS Dhoni did scored a fifty, but that came at a snail's pace. Even Virat Kohli failed against a new-look Australian bowling attack.
Now, ahead of the crucial second ODI at Adelaide, which could decide the fate of the series, Kohli and his men hit the nets, and could be seen putting their 110%. The Indian skipper looked completely focused and in put in extra efforts as he took on some throw-ins.
The result in the first ODI would surely have been a disappointment for the Indian team, but they looked to have moved on from it when they left from Sydney for Adelaide. They did not let their heads drop, and could be seen having a bit of fun at the Sydney airport
Kedar Jadhav, who was left out of the playing XI in Sydney, lifted his teammates morale with a brilliant dance performance at the airport. In fact, his moves were actually reminiscent to that of Bollywood actor and dance sensation Hrithik Roshan.
