WATCH: Virat Kohli's 'clean sweep' dance before the match shows his competitive state of mind

While the end result at the Chinnaswamy Stadium didn't quite match up to Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli's expectations as MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu proved to be uncompromising in their chase even under high pressure, there was a moment before the match started that demonstrated, if such a demonstration was needed, the kind of 'matchwinning' groove Kohli was in before the start of the encounter

While the end result at the Chinnaswamy Stadium didn't quite match up to Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli's expectations as MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu proved to be uncompromising in their chase even under high pressure, there was a moment before the match started that demonstrated, if such a demonstration was needed, the kind of 'matchwinning' groove Kohli was in before the start of the encounter.

In the video, as the RCB are warming up, Kohli walks up to the rest of his teammates who are at that point doing some tricks with a football. It's not quite clear what Kohli's listening to (whether he's also listening to the same music that audiences can hear at home) but what's unmistakable is the fact that he's totally charged up and that he wants to 'clean sweep' the Chennai Super Kings!

One could say that as captain, he managed to do exactly that for large parts of the match as RCB's South Africa stars De Kock and AB de Villiers propelled the team to a massive 205-run total before Kohli deployed Umesh Yadav and the unplayable Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl-out the CSK top order. But at that point, the music must have ended as Dhoni and co made RCB dance to their own tune, eventually winning the match with aplomb.

There will be more matches, however, and Virat Kohli will return, dancing or not, to strike more fear into his opponents' hearts.

For now, enjoy a glimpse of his 'state of mind':
