Yuvraj Singh had announced his retirement from international cricket last month. He is currently leading Toronto Nationals in the ongoing edition of the Global T20. The former all-rounder did not have a memorable debut against the Chris Gayle-led Vancouver Knights where he decided to rule himself out even before the umpires had looked into the matter after the ball made contact with the stumper's gloves and hit the stumps despite his leg well inside the crease. Well, that is the past, as of now, it seems that Yuvi has started to enjoy being a part of the new league. He was involved in a funny incident during his team's second match against Edmonton Royals.
Prior to the clash between Nationals and Royals on Saturday, Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting, who represents the Royals was interviewed by the presenter and the broadcaster of the tournament Erin Holland who is Cutting's fiancee. While the interview was in progress, Yuvi interrupted and asked "When is the wedding guys?"I need to get ready" which left Cutting and Holland in splits.
The video was posted by GT20 Canada on their official Twitter handle. Watch the video here.
Yuvraj and Ben might be playing for different teams in this tournament but they both were a part of the victorious Mumbai Indians squad earlier this year.
Things did not end here as both all-rounders were seen discussing this matter on Instagram.
Even Erin Holland told Yuvi that he will be invited to the wedding.
Unlike the first game, Yuvi had a very good outing with the bat. He played a cameo knock of a 21-ball 35 which included three boundaries and the equal number of maximums as Toronto Nationals registered a two-wicket win. Coincidentally, Yuvraj was also dismissed by Ben Cutting.
During the post-match interview, Yuvi was interviewed by Erin where she highlighted about him being dismissed by her fiance.
"Who's that guy? Do you know him? I think it's a good wedding present for you guys that he got me out. Hopefully, it will not happen again, said Yuvraj.
