The senior often uses the ‘right to bully’ the junior and that’s what Rohit Sharma did when he praised teammate Yuzvendra Chahal on his fine performance in India’s opening World Cup match on Wednesday. The opener lauded the leg spinner’s impressive bowling, but jokingly asked him to take care of his teeth. The 28-year-old also replied that forget the teeth, he was even ready to offer his life for his senior.
As both the players stood out in their respective roles against South Africa, Rohit shared a photograph of Yuzvendra coming out to celebrate after his unbeaten innings helped India achieve the target of 228. The opener captioned the post, “Well bowled Chahal babu, but apna daat 🦷 sambhal le.”
The bowler too had a lovely response, “Aapke liye daant kya rohitaa sharamaaaa jaan bhi haazir hai 😝🤣 @rohitsharma45.” (sic)
While Rohit Sharma walked away with the Man of the Match award for his 122 not out off 144 balls, Yuzvendra’s performance was not any less as he took 4/51 in his 10 overs, helping India restrict South Africa to 227/9.
The leg spinner got emotional about fulfilling his dream to play in the World Cup and conveyed his gratitude to all who supported him in his journey.
India next play Australia at the Oval in London on Sunday. Both the teams go into the encounter, without a loss, winning one and two matches respectively.
