While Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan’s on-field or on-screen exploits are extraordinary, off it too, the trio has often used their superstardom for commendable causes. The celebrities once again backed an important social cause amid the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. The stars lent their support to The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) mission to ‘help children learn, play and be healthy.’

Moments after India’s first encounter against South Africa began on Wednesday, the UNICEF posted videos where one of the players on the field right now, Team India captain Virat, and legendary Sachin can be seen talking about #ForEveryChild, for which the Cricket World Cup has tied up with UNICEF.

The latter says, “One day, every child be vaccinated against deadly diseases. One day every child will have clean water. #OneDay4Children is helping build a better world for children. UNICEF uses the power of cricket to raise money and to inspire and empower millions of children. You can help save a child’s life and give them a happier, healthier future.”

Even Big B shared that he is ready for the on-field action, but will also be keeping an eye for video messages related to the campaign. The veteran tweeted, “Ready for #INDvSA and will be keeping an eye out for some special video messages supporting @UNICEFIndia ’s work with #ICCWorldCup2019 to help children learn, play and be healthy. #ForEveryChild, play.”

Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan is among the others who have also supported the mission previously.

Priyanka Chopra, as a goodwill ambassador for the UNICEF, has toured numerous African countries, the latest being Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, at the World Cup, India put up a fine display of pace and spin to restrict South Africa to 227/9 in their 50 overs.
