The Pakistani fans forgot their team's lacklustre performance against India after the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side overcame South Africa by 49 runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 clash at Lord's on Sunday. By the virtue of this win, Pakistan revived their World Cup campaign and at the same time, knocked the Proteas out of the competition. The Pakistani players were criticized by their fans, media, and cricketing greats after a disappointing loss against arch-rivals India last week.

However, everything was forgiven after the Men In Green's clinical performance against South Africa as fans were seen taking pictures with the Pakistani players and there was one fan who came up with a placard stating that he has recovered from his team's debacle against the Men In Blue at Old Trafford. One even held the 'We are sorry Sarfaraz' placard.

The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side will now be hoping to strengthen their semifinal berth against New Zealand who are undefeated in this tournament. The Men In Green are currently at the seventh position with two wins, three losses and a tie in their six matches. What this means is that they will need to win all their remaining matches to keep their last four hopes alive. At the same time, the current edition of the quadrennial event is being played in the Round Robin format. This was format was first introduced in the 1992 edition and Pakistan went on to lift their maiden title under Imran Khan's captaincy.

Believe it or not, even in the ongoing edition, Pakistan are in a similar position that they were in 1992. They had lost and won their first two matches respectively and their third game was washed out. Pakistan then lost their following two matches and won the sixth one. Co-incidentally, New Zealand were their opponents in their seventh match and they were undefeated back then as well. Pakistan not only defeated them in that league match but also went on to defeat them in the semifinals and too in their own backyard.

Therefore, coming towards the business end of the tournament, Pakistan cannot be taken lightly and here are some of the interesting netizens' reactions regarding the same.
