As Sri Lanka lock horns against Bangladesh in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match, they have received a huge setback after learning that the veteran fast bowler and one of world cricket's iconic bowlers Lasith Malinga will be playing the game with a heavy heart after which he will be flying back home to attend the funeral of his Mother-In-Law, Mrs. Kanthi Perera, who passed away. Malinga is expected to join the team before their next game against the reigning World Champions Australia on Saturday.
This was highlighted by Sri Lanka Cricket on their official Twitter handle.

At the same time, Sri Lanka Cricket also tweeted about the funeral which would be taking place on Thursday, 13th June.
Sri Lanka have so far played three games in the showpiece event. They lost their first match against New Zealand by 10 wickets, beat Afghanistan by 34 runs owing to DLS Method and their previous game against Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
Meanwhile, Lasith Malinga looked very impressive against Afghanistan where the 1996 champions were successful in defending a revised target of 187. The star fast bowler finished with figures of 3/39 from his 6.4 overs at an economy rate of 5.85.
