Fabian Allen took a stunner of a catch to wrap up the game for West Indies in their clash against Afghanistan on 5 July, earning the praise of netizens who adjudged Allen to be the best fielder in the tournament.

West Indie's Fabian Allen took yet another stunner of a catch to see the Windies home in their final group stage match against Afghanistan on 4 July. The Caribbean side set a target of 312 for Afghanistan, with Shahi Hope(77), Nicholas Pooran(58) and Ewin Lewis(58) contributing with the bat to get the Windies to a score above 300. In reply, Afghanistan were wrapped up for 288, leaving the Afghans with zero victories in the 2019 World Cup. 

Catch of the Match 

Fabian Allen took a spectacular one-handed dive catch to dismiss Sayed Shirzad off Oshan Thomas, the last bastion of the Afghanistan line-up. He made a run for the ball as soon as it was sent up in the air and dived to single-handedly clutch the ball, ensuring the Men in Maroon a comprehensive victory.

The Windies started off the tournament with a win and were touted to be favourites by many fans. However, their campaign took some ugly turns as they found themselves on a losing streak before finally breaking out of it in their last match of the group stage. With just two victories from nine matches, the Windies have had a forgetful run in the ongoing tournament, but nevertheless, the Men in Maroon have created some cherishing moments in the course, leaving fans delighted with the vigour of the team on the field.
