They were then given a little scare by Afghanistan, but in the end, pacer Mohammed Shami's hat-trick helped the two-time champions register a 11-run win in an edge-of-the-seat thriller.
The Men In Blue will now be facing West Indies at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday. The Caribbeans are at the eighth position with just a solitary win in their six matches.
