Former English skipper Michael Vaughan took a subtle jibe at cricketer-turned -commentator Sanjay Manjrekar after Ravindra Jadeja featured in the veteran commentator's probable Playing XI for the semi-finals.
Manjrekar had earlier criticized Jadeja, calling him a 'bits and pieces' cricketer, to which Jadeja had lashed out at the former Indian cricketer on social media.
This was Manjrekar's tweet about the Playing XI.
Ravindra Jadeja got the better of Sanjay Manjrekar during India's final ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 league match against Sri Lanka at Leeds on Saturday. Jadeja, who was playing his first match of the World Cup, was introduced to bowl in the 11th over. Coincidentally, Manjrekar was also doing commentary at that time.
The veteran commentator said that Jadeja's average was higher than that of spin twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. Surprisingly, in the following delivery, the all-rounder picked up a wicket as he sent back Kusal Mendis who was stumped off MS Dhoni.
Even the netizens came forward to have some fun at Manjrekar's expense.
