Reigning World Champions Australia got the better of England by 64 runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 clash at Lord's on Tuesday. By the virtue of this win, Australia became the first team to qualify for the semifinals. The Aussies have now won six of their seven matches and have 12 points in their tally. Their only loss had come against India. Meanwhile, England are at the fourth position with four wins in seven games and three losses. They have eight points in their tally. The hosts will now need to win their last two encounters against India and New Zealand respectively.

There were some standout moments in the contest between these two fierce rivals. They included a comical mix-up between Marcus Stoinis and Steve Smith in the first innings where both the batsmen were left stranded at the non-strikers' end, then Mitchell Starc had bowled the 'Ball of the Tournament' to get rid off a well-set Ben Stokes. However, there was one another huge moment in the game and it included the spectacular team-work from Aussie skipper Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell on the boundary to bring curtains down on Chris Woakes' innings.

It happened in the 42nd over which was bowled by Jason Behrendorff. On the third delivery, the Aussie pacer bowled a slower one on the middle stump and Woakes attempted a big shot to clear the mid-wicket fence. The shot was timed perfectly and it appeared that the ball would travel the distance. However, Glenn Maxwell had other ideas as he ran to his right with a focus on both the ball as well as the boundary. He took the catch but then realized that he would not be able to balance himself while heading towards the boundary. Nonetheless, he passes the ball to Finch who makes absolutely no mistake whatsoever as Stokes is dismissed and with him England's hopes vanish as well.

The video of this solid team-work on the boundary was posted by ICC on their official Twitter handle. Take a look.

Even social media was full of praises for this brilliant team-work. Read some comments here.
