The Indian batsmen went completely bersek against the defending World Champions Australia during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 clash at the Oval on Sunday. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma started on a cautious approach. However, once they got set, the Australian bowlers were taken to the cleaners. The duo registered yet another century-run opening stand. Their 127-run stand ended when Rohit was dismissed by Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Dhawan then got support from captain Virat Kohli as the two put on 93 runs for the second wicket stand. Gabbar then went on to register his 17th One Day International ton and his third World Cup century. The southpaw was dismissed for a 109-ball 117. Even after Dhawan's dismissal, Kohli continued to play his natural game and also found support from Hardik Pandya who played a stellar cameo of a 27-ball 48. The two were involved in an 81-run third wicket stand.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni also put up an entertaining performance by rediscovering his rhythm with the bat as he scored a quickfire 27. Kohli also registered his half-century and anchored India's innings. He fell in the penultimate ball of the innings for a brilliant knock of 82. KL Rahul hit Marcus Stoinis for a boundary off the final ball of the innings as India got to a stiff target of 352/5 in their 50 overs. Here's what the netizens had to say about India's outstanding effort with the bat.
