Due to the current weather conditions in the host City, Manchester; India's previous match against New Zealand was also washed out because of the rains. Since the weather predictions for Sunday's India-Pakistan match state that there might be an overcast and heavy rainfall everyone is crossing their fingers and praying for the match to somehow happen.

In light of the same, former Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar posted a cheeky meme on Twitter;

Akhtar posted a picture where-in the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his Pakistan counterpart Sarfaraz Ahmed are swimming their way to the field after toss with the experts standing on a boat.

ICC Chief Executive David Richardson expressed how difficult it will be for them to reverse day matches since the tournament's length will increase and practically would be extremely complex to deliver, to a media publication. He also conveyed how logistically taxing the entire process will be, from team recovery to accommodations and broadcasting arrangements.

He also mentioned that there is no guarantee that the reverse day would be free from rain.

India and Pakistan will be meeting for the seventh time in a World Cup on this coming Sunday. In all the previous face to face encounters, the Indian squad have been undefeated. The ICC has said in a statement that it will be logistically really difficult to keep reverse days for matches in the group stage.
