After the India vs New Zealand match in the ICC World Cup was cancelled due to rains, Congress leader and Chairman of Indian Premier League Rajeev Shukla spoke about the unfortunate calling off of the event on Twitter.
Shukla who had earlier held the position as the Vice President of BCCI had pre-emptively remarked on the eve of the match that he hoped that the weather will not play a spoilsport in the match by the two undefeated teams.
But after the rains came in the way of the play, he took Twitter to speak about how cricket-lovers who had travelled from far over places would be disappointed. Expressing his dejection, he said some channels are calling it 'Rain cup instead of World Cup''
The weather has been an issue in the tournament so far with the matches of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, both being completely washed out.
Since the cancellation of India's match with the Kiwis, netizens have seemed to not have gotten enough from making and sharing memes about it, many of which have gone viral.
