Team India beat West Indies by a comprehensive margin of 125 runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 clash at the Old Trafford in Manchester. By the virtue of this win, the Men In Blue registered their third successive win over the Windies in World Cups. This win has now taken India to the second spot in the points table with five wins in six matches and 11 points on the board. Meanwhile, the Virat Kohli-led side also continue their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss for the second straight time and elected to bat first. The West Indian bowlers made the opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul work hard for their runs. Rohit cut loose in no time. It appeared that he will play an impactful knock. Unfortunately, the Hitman could not last for a long time as he was dismissed early in a controversial manner.

Skipper Virat Kohli and Rahul then added 69 runs for the second wicket stand. Post Rahul's dismissal, India lost the wickets of Vijay Shankar and Kedar Jadhav. Kohli scored his fourth consecutive half-century of the tournament. He also became the fastest player to reach 20,000 international runs. In the process, he has broken Sachin Tendulkar's record.  The Indian skipper achieved this milestone in 416 innings, while Brian Lara and Sachin did it in 453 innings. Virat was dismissed for an 82-ball 72.

After Kohli's dismissal, the onus was on Dhoni and Hardik Pandya to steady the Indian ship. They added a 70-run stand for the sixth wicket. In the end, MSD's superb half-century helped India get to 268/7 in their 50 overs. Mahi remained unbeaten on a 61-ball 56.
