Jasprit Bumrah bowled an excellent spell in India's second ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 warm-up game against Bangladesh at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday. He picked up the key wickets of opener Soumya Sarkar and all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan to put Bangladesh in a spot of bother. However, his wicket that got rid of Al-Hasan was the biggest highlight of the second innings.

It happened in the 10th over of Bangladesh's innings. Bumrah had just broken the 49-run opening stand between Liton Das and Sarkar on the fourth delivery off that over as Shakib came out to bat. On his very first delivery which he faced from the young speedster, Shakib was welcomed by a terrific yorker which took the inside edge of the bat and disturbed the timber. It thus ended the veteran all-rounder's short stay in the middle as he walked back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Bumrah finished with figures of 2/25 in his five overs. After Bangladesh lost both Sarkar and Shakib in quick succession, Liton Das (73) and Mushfiqur Rahim (90) brought their team's run chase back on track with a 120-run third wicket partnership. However, once Liton Das was stumped off Dhoni by Kuldeep Yadav and Rahim was castled by the chinaman bowler, it all fell apart for Bangladesh as they were eventually bowled out for 264 in the final over with three balls to spare as India won the contest by a comprehensive margin of 95 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The 'Men In Blue' got off to a poor start as Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed cheaply for just one run. Kohli and Rohit then tried to steady the ship, but Rohit was dismissed just when India looked in control and Indian skipper Kohli followed him soon after. India then looked in a spot of bother after they suffered a middle order collapse and were reeling at 102/4.

MS Dhoni (113)  and KL Rahul (108) then anchored the Indian innings as the duo added 164 runs for the fifth wicket. Their vital tons took India to a huge total of 359/7 in their 50 overs.
