With less than 24 hours to go for their third and crucial encounter against New Zealand, Team India enjoyed a good practice session at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. While the batsmen had a productive session and even the injured Shikhar Dhawan joined the team, it seems that the weather could definitely play a factor on Thursday as the conditions were extremely overcast.
Team India members were seen warming up by jogging around the ground. Later, batting coach Sanjay Bangar helped the batsmen well with continuous throwdowns as head coach Ravi Shastri oversaw the batters’ session. Captain Virat Kohli, new contenders for the No 4 slot, Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik, and Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav enjoyed a fruitful session. KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were also seen at the session.
Shikhar Dhawan, whose thumb injury the country is fretting upon, was also seen all smiles as he joked with his teammates, bowling coach Bharat Arun and the others.
However, it was extremely gloomy, and the presence of super sopper and some of them even carrying the umbrella would make India keep their fingers crossed so that the match is not a washout.

Even the BCCI summed it up with their emoticon as it shared a picture of the conditions and tweeted, “Glum and gloomy conditions here at the Trent Bridge .”
Earlier in the day, Batting coach Sanjay Bangar had given an update about Shikhar Dhawan's injury and Rishabh Pant joining the team as his cover. He had shared that they will take a call on Dhawan's injury in 10-12 days and that 'if and when required' Pant is required, his practice sessions with the team will keep him in good stead.
