Prayers to the weather gods may or may not work, but it’s always good to be well-prepared in case they are generous. The rain threat is definitely looming large, but Virat Kohli and Co took to the field to practise under the cloudy conditions in Manchester on Saturday, a day before the marquee clash against Pakistan.
The team mainly indulged in fielding drills, as the players can be seen trying to stop the ball and then throw it at the stumps.
Republic TV also managed to get the first visual of Rishabh Pant after he landed in the United Kingdom as a cover for the injured Shikhar Dhawan. The young wicketkeeper can be seen practising with his senior Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who imparts tips to the 21-year-old.

After nationwide outrage over the choice of venue and other arrangements related to the World Cup that has led to four games being washed out, the India and Pakistan game could also follow suit in being abandoned.
As reported by Republic TV before, chances of a 100-over game are impossible and the match could be either truncated or completely wiped out as forecast predicts a thunderstorm and rains after 12 pm local time.
It’s possible that the washouts could make it tough for India to qualify for the semis.
