India's run chase of 240 against New Zealand started off on a disastrous note as they were reduced to 5/3 in the fourth over riding on some brilliant spells from the Kiwi pacers Trent Boult and Matt Henry. Both the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were caught behind off Henry while skipper Virat Kohli was trapped in front of the wicket by Boult. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik then looked to stabilize the Indian chase but in the process, Karthik was sent back to the pavilion courtesy of a stunning catch by Jimmy Neesham at point.
However, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar came forward with a not so impressive statement. He wrote 'It’s ok for Virat to get out, it’s ok for Rohit to get out, not ok for people like Rahul and Karthik to get out like this...too much time has been invested in them for limited returns.'

The fans who were already disappointed after watching the Indian top-order batsmen's collective failure were not in a mood to have fun as they trolled the veteran commentator.
