World Cup | WATCH: Australia's Alex Carey catches his helmet to prevent being hit-wicket after sweet-chin-music from England's Jofra Archer

Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper-batsman was hit on the chin by a ripper from Jofra Archer which left him bleeding in the ongoing second semifinal of the World Cup between England and Australia at  Edgbaston.

In the ongoing second semifinal of the World Cup between England and Australia at  Edgbaston, England got off to a dream start as they forced Australia to be at 14-3 in 7 overs. 

With the 3rd wicket gone, Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper-batsman came in to bat. He was welcomed by a ripper from Jofra Archer that sent a shockwave across Australia. Carey was hit on the chin by a nasty short ball from Archer. Carey was stunned. His helmet came off and was going to fall and hit the wickets. But kudos to Carey’s presence of mind, even after the nasty blow to his chin, he caught his helmet saving his wicket. The impact left Carey bleeding from the chin and he immediately signaled for the medics to come in.

The left-handed batsman kept his composure and played through the pain. He built his innings clinically, middling the ball and avoiding unorthodox shots. He went on to score 46 off 70 before Adil Rashid dismissed him.
