Team India fell narrowly short on Wednesday as the second day of the World Cup semifinal at Manchester's Old Trafford against New Zealand witnessed the Kiwis come out on top by 18 runs. They had resumed batting at 211/5 in 46.1 overs after rain had interrupted them on Tuesday and set India a target of 240 to win. India were bowled out for 221 with 3 balls to play.

Virat Kohli who had led his side in the tournament so well had an off day in the knockout game. He spoke to media at the end of the Men In Blue's campaign and said that it was disappointing that a short spell of bad Cricket had undone all the good work that had come before.

'It was a game of margins,' the captain observed, adding that he was disappointed that '45 minutes of bad cricket put us out after so much good cricket' speaking about the collapse of the top-order.

As the nation was still trying to digest the chain of events that unfolded in Old Trafford, to add on to the overflowing emotions, Virat Kohli took to Instagram and posted a message dedicated to the fans of the Men In Blue. Kohli thanked the fans and confessed that the dressing room is as disappointed as the fans are.
