Ahead of India's semi-final clash against New Zealand on 9 July at Old Trafford, Manchester, cricketer Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram handle to express his excitement for the match. He also shared a goofy picture with Mayank Agarwal describing it as "recovery session" before they play against New Zealand, on Tuesday.
Take a look at the post -
India will be locking horns against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The fans were earlier deprived of a contest between these two teams in the league stages as the match was washed away due to rain. The two teams were the only undefeated sides in the ongoing quadrennial event. The Men In Blue suffered their only defeat against the hosts England while the Black Caps who were enjoying a splendid run suffered a huge setback as they lost their last three matches against Pakistan, Australia and hosts England respectively.
At the same time, the two teams will be meeting each other in a World Cup clash after 16 long years. If rain plays spoilsport again, there is no need to worry as the ICC has provided a reserve day. The match will restart the next day, Wednesday, at the same venue. Nonetheless, if it the rain still plays a spoilsport on the reserve day as well then the Virat Kohli-led side will move to the final because they finished higher in the group stage, 1st, as compared to New Zealand's 4th.
Heading into this all-important clash where both teams will be battling it out for a place in the final, let's take a look at how both teams have fared in the World Cups as well as in One Day Internationals.
