New Zealand defeated India by 18 runs in the first semifinal of World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford on Wednesday and became the first team to qualify for the finals.

After losing Jadeja’s wicket who scored a much-needed fifty and went on to convert it to a score of 77 off 59 balls. Dhoni was the last hope India had as he looked settled on the crease. With 31 needed off the last two overs, Dhoni shifted gears and went for a six on the first ball of the 49th over, but later in the over got run out by a fantastic throw from Martin Guptill.

With Dhoni’s wicket, the chances of India winning were also gone. Netizens were gutted after MS departed and took to Twitter to laud the wicketkeeper-batsman.
