Brazil have been very poor since winning the Copa America earlier in the year and have failed to win any of their last four matches with stalemates coming up against Colombia, Senegal, Nigeria and a defeat to Peru. Meanwhile, Argentina improved as the Copa America progressed until they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Brazil. They are undefeated in their last four friendly matches following that tournament producing a 4-0 win over Mexico and a 2-2 draw on the road against Germany. They are coming off a huge 6-1 victory against Ecuador. In their last five meetings, Brazil have won three of them while Argentina have managed to win just once.
