FC Bayern Munich are scheduled to face FC Augsburg in the WWK Arena on Saturday, October 19. Having lost their last game to Hoffenheim, Bayern would be looking to make a strong start post the international break. We look at the match preview and discuss the team news for both the sides
🗣️ #Kovac: "We're pleased to have everyone back and fit and that the lads had plenty of success [over the international break]. As a result, the atmosphere in the team is good."#FCBayern #packmas pic.twitter.com/O4IxrVJssX

Team News
Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry, who picked up a knock while on international duty with Germany, would be hoping to get a green light ahead of the fixture. David Alaba and Leon Goretzka are also back in training following their thigh and rib injuries. However, a start for either of them looks unlikely. Free-scoring Robert Lewandowski, who has already scored a whopping 11 goals in just seven fixtures, would be looking to continue his fine form in front of the goal. Niko Kovac shouldn't have any problems in picking a starting 11 as most of his stars remain fit.
🗣️ #Kovac: "@David_Alaba is on his way back, he still feels it in his rib a little. Today's training looked good, but we need to wait and not rush things. It's looking very good for @leongoretzka_. We want to ease him in over the next few weeks." #FCBayern #MiaSanMia pic.twitter.com/0Bt3ZyPTnk

Augsburg welcomed key defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw into the team during the international break although Andre Hahn picked up a knock during the same period. Carlos Gruezo, Marek Suchy, Marco Richter and former Bayern youth player Felix Gotze continue to remain absent.
Head-to-head and league form
Augsburg have lost 13 of their last 16 Bundesliga meetings with the Bavarians and are without a win in their last eight meetings. The last time they were victorious was back in March 2015. This season, Augsburg have made another poor start, currently lying 14th with a paltry five points, which is just one point above 17th placed Union Berlin. They are winless in their last three fixtures and were beaten comprehensively by Borussia Monchengladbach 1-5 in their last game.
