Liverpool will be walking a tightrope heading into the game against Arsenal. Not for strictly footballing reasons, though. Liverpool were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their last Carabao Cup game against Milton Keynes Dons. Pedro Chirivella was the player in question. Arsenal, meanwhile, are also on shaky ground. Despite signing Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz, Gabriel Martinelli and Kieran Tierney on permanent deals, along with the loan signing of Dani Ceballos in the summer, Unai Emery has failed to turn around Arsenal's fortunes this season. The former PSG manager has enjoyed marginally better success than the outgoing Arsene Wenger. Wenger's last 47 games and Emery's first 47 games have a remarkably similar trajectory. In his last 47 games in the Premier League, Wenger guided Arsenal to 26 wins, scoring 90 goals in the process, while conceding 59. On the other hand, Emery during his first 47 games in the Premier League, has led Arsenal to 25 wins in which 86 goals have been scored and 63 have been conceded.
