Gareth Southgate praised England's performance after they ended Belgium's 13-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory that took the Three Lions to the top of their UEFA Nations League group on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford's penalty cancelled out Romelu Lukaku's spot kick in the first half before Mason Mount clinched England's first victory over a top-ranked team in nine years.

With captain Harry Kane only fit enough for the bench and Raheem Sterling out injured, Southgate's younger stars once again had a chance to shine.

Southgate called it a "brilliant experience for them to play against such a top team".
