Burnley manager Sean Dyche was quick to underline that new Ivory Coast defender Maxwel Cornet is not guaranteed a starting spot in his side - despite the club paying Lyon around 15 million euros for his services.

Dyche was speaking about the signing after Burnley's 1-1 draw at home to Leeds on Sunday with Cornet due to meet up with his new team-mates after the international break.

Dyche said that he would "work out the best position that we think he would be effective for us - but first things first, he's got to get in the team."

Burnley's point against Leeds was the first of the season and moves them out of the bottom three.
