Jose Mourinho, former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has been linked with a Premier League return with Tottenham Hotspur. Notably, Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties at Manchester United last December after a string of defeats that left Manchester United struggling in the Premier League. He has since restrained from taking up a job at another club citing he’d want to wait for the right project. He has been working as a football pundit since, particularly linking with Sky Sports.

As for Mourinho, he is reportedly interested in replacing under-fire coach Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur. Pochettino took over at Tottenham in May 2014 from Southampton and has overseen a largely successful period in North London. However, this season he has become a distant figure in the dressing room and the clubs' on-field form has dissipated adding much pressure on him. As for the Spurs who recently tied down Pochettino to a long term contract, whether they'd be willing to let him go, will have to be seen?

Mourinho, who has been the manager of Chelsea twice between 2004-07 and 2013-15 and of United between 2016-18 has had relative success in England winning the Premier League twice with Chelsea and the Europa League with the Red Devils among other domestic cups with both the clubs. He also has an impressive Resume in Europe; having won a treble with Inter in 2010 and winning the league title in Spain with Real Madrid. However, Tottenham may propose a different challenge altogether with comparatively less available transfer funds and an altogether different footballing philosophy to what Pochettino has developed in at Tottenham.

As for Tottenham fans, it must be seen the reception they would have to this news and with respect to Pochettino; he seems to have the support of the board at Tottenham and seems eager to turn things around for the club.
