Maurizio Sarri enjoyed a winning start on his Premier League debut as Chelsea comfortably navigated a tricky start against Huddersfield Town with a 3-0 victory. N'golo Kante, Jorginho and Pedro were on the score sheet, as the Blues bagged their first 3 points of the campaign.

Before the match, there were concerns amongst the Chelsea fans, given the recent transfer saga surrounding their star players and limited preparation time for their new Italian manager to make an impact before the upcoming season. However, after Saturday's victory the Blues can breathe a sigh of relief, atleast temporarily.

Maurizio Sarri's trusted lieutenant from Napoli, Jorginho, set up the win with instrumental first half contributions. The Italian play-maker had a hand to play in the first goal for N'Golo Kante after 34 minutes then scored the second himself from the spot after starting the move from the Blues penalty box.

N'golo Kante provided the breakthrough around the half-hour mark. Jorginho, present at the heart of the midfield, initiated the attack with a neat flick for Pedro, who found the advancing Willian on the wing. The Brazilian whipped in a great cross into the box for the Frenchman to score the first goal of the Sarri era.

Jorginho doubled their advantage minutes before the interval through a composed spot-kick. The Italian showed why Chelsea spent  £57 million for his services, as he produced a delicious feint before rolling the ball into the net.

He was also involved in the brilliant piece of interplay to win the penalty. The Italian play-maker fed a perfectly-weighted pass to Ross Barkley, who produced a clever flick for the goal-bound Marcos Alonso to earn the spot-kick.

Chelsea could have increased their lead after the break when Marcos Alonso's hooked shot hit the woodwork and moments later scuffed his shot over the target through a free-kick. As the game passed, the Blues started to look more confident on the ball and a third goal looked almost certain.

Eden Hazard came off the bench for the closing 20 minutes and created an instant impact. The Belgian dribbled his way through with a trademark run and produced a defense-splitting pass to find an unmarked Pedro. The Spaniard cheekily dinked the onrushing Huddersfield goalkeeper to secure the three points for the Blues.

Record-signing, Kepa Arrizabalaga was handed his first start since joining from Atletico Bilbao in a  £71 million deal. The goalkeeper was barely tested and managed to claim his first clean sheet of the season thanks to some improved and resolute defending from Chelsea's back line.

However, Chelsea's brand of football was far from close to what you'd expect a Maurizzio Sarri side to play. But given the fact it's work in progress, the Blues have lots of ground to cover in order to challenge Manchester City for the title.
