A feisty encounter at the Stade des Costieres between Paris Saint-Germain and Nimes grabbed all the headlines after France's World Cup star Kylian Mbappe was sent off in the dying minutes of the game.

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe was shown red for the second time in his club career after he appeared to have shoved a Nimes player. Teji Savanier had attempted a rash challenge on Kylian Mbappe, which sparked outrage from the young French attacker. Both players received their marching orders following this heated alteration.

Though this was not the only drama that surfaced during the course of the match, with Neymar also hogging the spotlight after his epic goal-scoring celebration. The Brazilian attacker had opened the scoring for the French Champions and raced away to the end where he spotted a banner called 'cry baby' amongst the home crowd. Neymar brilliantly shut down his critics by sitting down in front of the banner and pretended to cry.

Angel Di Maria doubled the lead of his side in the dying minutes of the first half. The Argentine struck a spectacular free-kick from the corner flag to catch the opposition keeper off guard and make his audacious effort an early contender for goal of the season.

The second-half was more of a topsy-turvy affair, which saw Paris Saint-Germain's lead been canceled out through strikes from Antonin Bobichon and a penalty from Savanier. With the tie evenly poised, both sides refused to remove the foot off the pedal and pushed for a winning goal.

The PSG players notably Kylian Mbappe had to face the wrath of rough tackles from the Nimes players, which needed his teammates to calm down the Frenchman. In a fitting reply, he went on the restore the lead of the Ligue 1 champions through a stunning strike.

Mbappe struck his fourth goal in 3 appearances for the French outfit, followed by experienced marksmen Edison Cavani, who went on finished things off in style through a stoppage-time strike to ensure Paris Saint-Germain maintained their 100% unbeaten record and their lead at the top of the league before the international break.
