A late winner from the prolific Robert Lewandowski enabled Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich to scrape past bottom side Paderborn 3-2 on Friday - and stretch their lead to four points.

A heroic effort from the visitors looked like earning them an unlikely point until the Poland striker swept in a cross from Serge Gnabry with three minutes left.

Gnabry had earlier given Bayern the lead with his 10th league goal of the season, only for Dennis Srbeny to equalise moments before half-time, courtesy of a slip-up by Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer..

Lewandowski struck after 70 minutes to restore Bayern's lead but five minutes later Michel made it 2-2.

It looked to be the goal which would give a huge boost to Bayern's title challengers only for Lewandowski's 25th Bundesliga goal of the season to put them four points clear, temporarily at least.
