Liverpool: 17 players receive senior call-ups for international duty

Liverpool saw 17 players being called up for international duty in October with Van Dijk, Firmino and Mane all being picked up however Salah missed a call-up.

Liverpool have had a great start to the season winning all of their fixtures in the league. There have been 17 international call ups from their current senior squad.

Liverpool players on international duty

Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have all been called up by Gareth Southgate for England for their upcoming fixtures against the Czech Republic (October 12) and Bulgaria (October 15). Oxlade-Chamberlain who continues to get back to his best form after his injury misses out from the setup.

Brazil have called up Roberto Firmino and Fabinho for their upcoming friendlies against Senegal (October 10) and Nigeria (October 13). Alisson Becker; just back to full fitness misses out, with Ederson looking to be on goal for the Seleção.

Sadio Mane is in the Senegal squad for a match against his Brazilian teammates. Georginio Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk will be looking to secure qualification to the Euro 2020 for the Netherlands against Northern Ireland (October 11) and Belarus (October 13).

Captain Andy Robertson will be looking to have a positive impact when Scotland take on Russia and San Marino. Though an automatic qualification berth for Euro 2020 is no longer a possibility, Scotland still have another chance through playoffs. Belgium, in the same group as Scotland, has called up Divock Origi for their fixtures against San Marino (October 11) and Kazakhstan (October 13). Belgium who currently tops their group could confirm their qualification to the Euro 2020 with wins in both the games.

Dejan Lovren who made his first league appearance this weekend is a regular for Croatia and has been called up again for their fixtures against Hungary (October 11) and Wales (October 14). Other players with international call ups are Caoiminh Kelleher (Ireland U21), Rhian Brewster, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot (England U21, U18 and U17 respectively), Van Den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever (Netherlands U19 and U18 respectively)

Matip (retired), Clyne (injured), Milner (retired), Keita, Lallana, Salah, Shaqiri are other notable omissions.
