Marcus Rashford confuses Carabao Cup with the Premier League

Although Marcus Rashford starred in Man United's win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, he forgot momentarily that it was a Carabao Cup game!

Marcus Rashford completely forgot that he was playing in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, October 30, and not the Premier League. The birthday boy scored a brace, including a stunning free-kick, as he helped Manchester United grab a win over their Premier League rivals Chelsea to enter the quarter-finals of the tournament. However, Rashford said in a post-match interview that he was happy after 'getting the three points' against Chelsea. He was the star of the match and scored a magical free-kick to celebrate his 22nd birthday on Thursday. The interview turned out to be a funny incident and left the internet in splits.

Interviewer: "Marcus, congratulations, your birthday tomorrow - is that the best possible way to celebrate tonight?"
Rashford: "Erm, yeah, getting the three points is the way you want to start a day like tomorrow."

Ole on Manchester United and Rashford

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked very delighted with the crucial win. Ole, in a post-match interview, said that the United team travelled a lot in the last week and the three wins in their last three away games show the spirit and character of the team. The fact that the team have managed to score the first goal in their last few matches is noticeable. A delighted Solskjaer explained that Manchester United were excellent against Chelsea as they were fast-flowing and that's what the Red Devils are known for. He claimed that they are doing everything to get back on track. When asked about Rashford's beautiful strike, he said that Marcus Rashford always had the ability in him and that he has seen him doing the same thing in training many times. He ended the interview by saying that he knows that Manchester United is not a finished product and that they are a work in progress who will try to keep on improving.
