Messi still suspended as Barcelona prepare for trip to Elche in La Liga

Barcelona trained in the Catalan capital on Saturday, as they prepared for Sunday's La Liga trip to Elche.

Ronald Koeman's side will be without their talisman, Lionel Messi, who is suspended following his red card in Barca's 3-2 defeat by Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup final.

However, they will still go into the game as the strongest of favourites - Elche are without a win in 12 matches in the Spanish top flight and currently sit 18th in the table.

Third-placed Barcelona have won their last four league games away from home and haven't conceded a goal in six competitive meetings with Elche, scoring 22 goals of their own along the way.
