Spanish Super Cup 2019-20 draw: Epic 'El Clasico' final in store?

Spanish Super Cup 2019-20 draw pits Real Madrid against Valencia CF, while Barcelona are set to play Atletico Madrid. Will we have an 'El Clasico' finale?

As per official statistics, Real Madrid versus Barcelona is the most-watched game by football fans all across the globe. Dubbed 'El Clasico', Spanish football fans eagerly await the dates of the highly-anticipated clash between the two football giants. The LaLiga big-wigs play each other at least twice every season in the domestic league but often meet in other competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, Copa Del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa de España).

Will we see a mouth-watering 'El Clasico' finale in the Spanish Super Cup?

Real Madrid were drawn up against Valencia CF while Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup which is to be played in Saudi Arabia between January 8 and 12, 2020. The draw gives football fans across the globe some hope that they might witness an 'El Clasico' final, should Real Madrid and Barcelona both win their respective matches. Both teams have had a mixed bag of results at this stage of the season but are still top of the LaLiga table after Matchday 13 (both teams have played 12 matches each).

It will be interesting to see how the tournament pans out, that too, on foreign soil in Saudi Arabia. As part of the deal between RFEF and Saudi officials, women will be allowed to attend the games as part of the contract signed between both parties
