Spanish Super Cup: RFEF agree three-year deal to play in Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia CF will all be involved in the Spanish Super Cup 2019-20 which will be played in Saudi Arabia next year.

Real Madrid, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, and FC Barcelona will all be involved in this season's Spanish Super Cup competition. As opposed to the normal routine, the 2019-20 edition of the Spanish domestic competition will be played in Saudi Arabia and not in Spain. This comes after the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) agreed on a three-year deal with Saudi officials to host the next three editions of the competition on foreign soil.

Real Madrid, Atletico, Barcelona, and Valencia to fight for domestic glory

The 2019-20 edition of the Spanish Super Cup is scheduled to be played in Saudi Arabia between January 8 and 12, 2020. This will be the first time that the Spanish Super Cup is not being played in Spain. Real Madrid have been drawn against Valencia CF while Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the two-round knockout tournament in January.

There are a lot of controversies surrounding the change of venue from Spain to Saudi Arabia. However, the Spanish Federation has claimed that all the money that will come in from this deal with Saudi Arabia will be reinvested back in amateur teams and women's football in Spain.
