Stranger than Stranger Things: Bengal paper uses show's Dustin & Lucas to show that Antoine Griezmann & Samuel Umtiti are childhood buddies

Antoine Griezmann and Samuel Umtiti had an interesting way to celebrate becoming club mates at Barcelona after winning the World Cup with France last year. After the former Atletico Madrid star completed his £107m move to the La Liga winners recently, he posted a picture with the defender, in a collage with that of Dustin and Lucas from ‘Stranger Things’. However, a Bengali newspaper used the image to say that they were friends from childhood.

One of the netizens shared a screenshot of the image in the newspaper that stated that their friendship is still intact and wrote, “A Bengali newspaper used photos of Dustin and Lucas from Stranger Things as pictures of footballers Samuel Umtiti and Antoine Griezmann being friends since childhood.” 

Earlier, Griezmann had tweeted the collage and written, “New actors for the best series: @Stranger_Things.” 

Umtiti felt they were apt for the next season, captioning it, “Season 4.’

Meanwhile, ‘Stranger Things 3’ recently premiered on Netflix on July 4. 

On the other hand, Barcelona are set to defend their title, starting from the opening encounter against Athletic Bilbao on August 17.
