As good a player he is on the field, it seems Kylian Mbappe, unlike a few other footballers, has a big heart outside the footballing arena as well. The French sensation has the world at his feet at the tender age of 19, with some stellar performance at both the club and national level, which includes winning the World Cup 2018 with his country.

Earlier this year, after his success with France in the World Cup, Mbappe donated an astonishing sum of $500,000 to charity, which earned him widespread plaudits. He spoke about his decision behind doing charity in this month's Time Magazine, in which he was chosen as the cover face. The youngster said,

"I did not need to be paid. I was there to defend the colors of the country. Also, I earn enough money—a lot of money. So I think it is important to help those who are in need. A lot of people are suffering, a lot of people have diseases."

The PSG star further went onto mention that he wanted to do something which could do something good in someone's life.

"For people like us, giving a helping hand to people is not a big thing. It doesn’t change my life, but it changes theirs. And if it can change theirs, it is a great pleasure. I gave the money to the charity where I am a sponsor because being handicapped is something difficult. Showing them that they can do sports like everyone it is something close to my heart," he added.

Mbappe was one of the star players as France went onto win the World Cup for the second time in their history. During the tournament, he created a number of records on his way to winning the 'Young Player of the Tournament' award.

In the competition, the 19-year-old became just the second teenager ever to score in the final of a World Cup. The 19-year-old scored his nation's fourth goal in the 4-2 win over Croatia in the final of World Cup 2018.

He follows the footsteps of Brazilian legend Pele, who was the only player before to score a goal in the final as a teenager. Pele was a mere 17 when he won the 1958 World Cup with Brazil.

Earlier in the tournament, Mbappe became only the second ever teenager to score two goals in a match after Pele. He scored a double when France beat Argentina 4-3 in the round of 16.
