UCL Tottenham vs Red Star Belgrade: Match Report

Red Star fell behind early in London when Harry Kane scored from a corner in the 9th minute, much to the joy of the home fans. Minutes later Spurs were leading by two goals thanks to Son's well-taken finish from Lamela's cross. Spurs looking like a team oozing with confidence could have easily ended the tie in the first half itself with Lamela, Ndombele going close. The home side did score their third when Son netted his second after being fed by Tanguy Ndombele. The midfielder did very well to win the ball in the middle and find Son for an easy goal. Red Star failed to match Spurs' intensity for much of the game as the scoreline rightly suggests. Pochettino couldn't have asked for more from his side who blew the visitors away. A good attacking display that showed fluidity and rhythm along with solidity at the back, reminiscent of the old Spurs, might just shape up their season.
