Once upon a time, whenever Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to take a free kick, more often that not, it was an effort on target or goal. But now, it seems age has caught up with the Portuguese, as he is no longer considered a threat on dead ball situation.
Long gone are the days when he used to smack a swerving, unstoppable effort past the keeper from 25, 30, 35 yards out. His fading technique, at least in terms of free kicks, was at show during Juventus' fixture against Torino in Seria A.
With his side earning a free-kick on the left side close to the penalty box, Ronaldo tried to outwit the opponent by taking an indirect free kick. He ordered his teammate Miralem Pjanic to lay the ball on his right foot so that he could take his effort. But what followed was a moment of embarrassment for the Portuguese.
His shot, rather than heading to the top corner or the bottom corner, went miles wide. His effort was so poor that the ball went out for a throw-in.
Twitter users were quick to spot his poor effort, and left no stones unturned in making fun of him.
