WATCH: Paul Pogba trolls England fans with 'It's coming home' video

"It's coming home," shouted the England fans when the World Cup 2018 started. For them, the prospect of their nation's footballers lifting the trophy for the first time seemed very real.

And the cries for the trophy grew even louder when the team reached the semi-final. The Three Lions' fans were hoping to witness something which happened only once in their history, back in 1966.

But it wasn't to be, as Croatia broke their heart with a 2-1 win in the semi-final. Eventually, the Three Lions had to settle for a fourth place finish after their defeat to Belgium in the third-placed match. The trophy wasn't coming home after all the hue and cry!

Instead, the World Cup 2018 accolade went to France, who won the prestigious tournament for the second time in their history. They beat the spirited Croatian side 4-2 in what turned out to be a one-sided affair.

One of the star player for France through the tournament was Paul Pogba. The midfielder was a livewire in the French midfield, and also scored an all-important third goal in the final, causing a lot of problems to the opposition defenses.

And after guiding his team to glory, the 25-year-old was over the moon, so much so that he ended up mocking England's 'It's coming home'. A video has emerged of him making fun of that phrase.
 

While Pogba may have stolen the limelight through this video, his teammate Kylian Mbappe stole the show in World Cup 2018. Mbappe became just the second teenager ever to score in the final of a World Cup. The 19-year-old scored his nation's fourth goal in the 4-2 win over Croatia in the final of World Cup 2018.

He followed in the footsteps of Brazilian legend Pele, who was the only player before to score a goal in the final as a teenager. Pele was a mere 17 when he won the 1958 World Cup with Brazil. 

Earlier in the tournament, Mbappe also became only the second ever teenager to score two goals in a match after Pele. He scored a double when France beat Argentina 4-3 in the round of 16. The PSG star further enhanced his reputation as the next big thing in football with his sublime displays in the tournament.
