Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has thrown back to perhaps the most famous footballing ad campaign of all time -- the Nike Football 'The Cage' secret tournament that people simply couldn't get enough of near-abouts the 2002 World Cup.

The ad campaign essentially entailed a secret 3-a-side football tournament taking place aboard a ship, with the astroturf pitch enclosed within a cage.

The teams were sensational, including the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (the Brazilian one), Roberto Carlos, Denilson, Thierry Henry, Luis Figo, Hernan Crespo, Rio Ferdinand. Memorably, Eric Cantona was the 'dungeon master'.

The campaign, which had a number of parts, was perhaps the finest among a number of sensational ads during that period, with Nike's competitor Adidas also coming up with a few involving David Beckham's accuracy at kicking a football.

Nike's Joga Bonito campaign also saw a number of ads involving Brazilian players who would impromptou begin playing keepie-uppies, at an airport and in other places.

"Who remembers those ads? Just crackers!", Ronaldinho said.
