West Ham United are all set to face Manchester United on Sunday, September 22. Both the teams will face each other at the London Stadium. The fans are excited to watch West Ham go up against Manchester United as the Red Devils have picked up two wins out of five in the league so far, and are looking forward to picking up more points by winning the match on Sunday. Both the teams have produced amazing football players throughout the years. Here are five players who have played for both the clubs.

Five players who played for West Ham and Manchester United

Teddy Sheringham

Sheringham has played in the Premier League and the Champions League for West Ham when he joined them in 2004 from Portsmouth. His season with the Hammers was pretty good and he received appreciation from the fans. While at United, Sheringham helped his team win the 1999 Champions League final. He scored an equaliser for Manchester United which was a vital goal against Bayern Munich. They later capitalised and won the tie with Solskjær’s goal in stoppage time. Manchester United won the treble that year.

Javier Hernández

Chicharito, as he is commonly known, was the first Mexican player to join Manchester United. He scored a total of 20 goals in his debut season and went on to win the Premier League. He spent two seasons in Germany and later returned to the Premier League with West Ham. He had an amazing season with the team and got the attention of many top football teams across many major leagues.

Carlos Tevez

Tevez made the headlines when he scored the only goal to save West Ham from relegation, against Manchester United. He was signed by West ham at the same time as fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano. He later moved to Manchester United on a two-year loan deal. In his first season with the Red Devils, he won the Premier League along with the UEFA Champions League title in during 2007-08.

Michael Carrick

Carrick is one of the most prominent names in English football. He was once a part of the Hammers from 1999-2004. In his season with West Ham, he proved to be a vital factor for the team. He won the FA Youth Cup with West Ham. Carrick later moved to Manchester United in 2006. He was considered to be a replacement for Roy Keane by Sir Alex Ferguson. Carrick went on to win the Premier League in his first season with Manchester United.

Rio Ferdinand

Rio was with West Ham for a long time. He spent six seasons with the Hammers. At the time, Rio Ferdinand was the world’s most expensive defender. He made a move to Manchester United for £30 million. He won six Premier League titles, six Community Shields, three League Cups, one Champions League and one FIFA Club World Cup during his time with the Red Devils.

West Ham United will host Manchester United on Sunday, September 22, on matchday six in the Premier League.
