PKL 2019: UP Yoddha edge out Bengaluru Bulls as league stage ends

UP Yoddha defeated Bengaluru Bulls on Friday, October 11. Both UP Yoddha and Bengaluru Bulls have qualified for the PKL 2019 playoffs starting on October 14.

UP Yoddha beat Bengaluru Bulls 45-33 on Friday, October 11 at UP Yoddha's home stadium, Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida (20:30 IST). The match brought and to the PKL 2019 league stage. Both teams, along with Dabang Delhi KC, Bengal Warriors, Haryana Steelers and U Mumba have qualified for the upcoming PKL 2019 playoffs starting on October 14.

PKL 2019: UP Yoddha vs Bengaluru Bulls match result

Pawan Sehrawat's four-point super raid paved way for an early All-Out for UP Yoddha which gave a 9-2 lead to Bengaluru Bulls. UP Yoddha made a quick comeback with a four-point super raid by Surender Gill. With eight minutes remaining in the first half, UP Yoddha enforced an all-out on Bengaluru Bulls reducing their lead to three points. After Sumit sending Sehrawat to the bench, the first half ended Bengaluru still leading with a 22-20 score.

Though a Super Tackle by Mahender Singh delayed the process, UP Yoddha inflicted an All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls, which gave them a 27-25 lead. As Sehrawat tried to bring his team back into the game, UP Yoddha's defence stood firm. They tackled Hi-Flyer on various occasions, after which the home team only had to defend their lead. UP Yoddha enforced a third all-out with only a few minutes left to go. Bengaluru Bulls and UP Yoddha will face each other again for the Eliminator 1 on October 14.

PKL 2019: UP Yoddha vs Bengaluru Bulls career milestones

  • Pawan Kumar Sehrawat completed 300 raid points in PKL 2019.
  • Shrikant Jadhav completed 400 total points in his PKL career.
  • Sumit Singh completed 50 tackle points in PKL season 7.
