Asian Games 2023 Day 3 Highlights: India clinch historic Gold; Tally reaches 14

India has won the squash match against Qatar by 3-0 and have progressed to the next stage of the Asian Games 2022. 

India has finished fifth in the Men's 4x100m medley relay final of the Asian Games 2022. The Indian team consisting of Srihari Natraj, Likith Selvaraj, Sajan Prakash and Tanish Matthew clocked a time of 3:40:20.

Indian grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi has lost to China’s Yi Wei. Vidit had a total of 5.0 points whereas his Chinese opponent has a total of 5.5 points. 

Indian swimmers including Kusharga Rawat and Aryan Nehra have finished at the bottom of the Men’s 1500m Freestyle fast heats with a time of 15:20.91 and 15:44.61.

Indian Volleyball team has suffered a setback in Volleyball against Pakistan and has lost the match by 21-25, 20,-25, 23-25. 

Indian mixed Tennis pair of Yuki Bhambri and Ankita Raina has defeated Pakistan in Mixed doubles event of the 2022 Asian Games by 6-0, 6-0. 

Indian Grand Master Arjun Erigaisi lose to Mongolia’s Bilguun Sumiya by 0-1.

Indian Tennis star Sumit Nagal has secured a place in the quarter-final of the Men's singles event and has defeated Kazakhstan’s Bebit Zhukayev by 7-6, 6-4. 

Indian women's doubles team of Ankita Raina and Prathana Thombare lose to Thailand's Anchisa Chanta and Punin Kovapitukted in the second round of the Women’s doubles event by 5-7, 2-6. 

India's Tulika Mann has lost to Mongolia's Amarsaikhan by Nippon in Judo of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. 

India has received yet another disappointment in the Tennis Women's Doubles event as the Indian women's pair of Rutuja Bhosale and Karman Thandi lose to Hong Kong, China’s Eudice Chong and Hong Wong by 4-6, 1-6. 

Indian chess grand master Vidit Gujrathi has won in round six of Chess by beating Uzbek chess grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov by 1-0.

Eabad Ali finishes third in the Men’s Windsurfer RS:X event with a net score of 52. Thailand’s Natthaphong Phonopparat wins silver with 29 and Cho Wonwoo of South Korea takes gold with 13.

India's Sachin Siwach is taking on Asri Udin of Indonesia in the men's 57kg category in the Round of 32. Siwach has got four 10s and one 9, while Udin has received four 9s and one 10 in the first round. The Indian won the second round unanimously as he received 10s from all judges while Udin got five 9s. Sachin Siwach moved into the Round of 16 after clinching the bout 5-0.

Ramkumar Ramanathan has suffered a 5-7, 7-6(3), 5-7 defeat against Yosuke Watanuki of Japan, in a two-hour-and-40-minute tennis clash in the third round.

After the precision stage in the 25m Pistol Women’s Qualification, Manu Bhaker is at the top of the table with a score of 294. Esha Singh is third with 292 and Rhytham Sangwan is 11th with 290.

The Indian quartet of Srihari Nataraj, Likith Selvaraj, Sajan Prakash and Tanish Mathew finishes overall fourth in the heats with a timing of 3:40.84s to qualify for the final. The final will be held today at 6:31PM IST.

• Judo: Tulika Maan through to bronze medal match

Tulika Maan wins her repechage round by Ippon against Chinese Taipei’s Jia Wen Tsai and progresses to the bronze medal bout in the women’s +78kg category.

Tanvi Khanna finishes what Anahat Singh and Joshana Chinappa started. She beats Pakistan's Noor Ul Ain Ijaz in straight games. India thrash Pakistan 3-0 in the Women's Squash Team Event to advance to the next round.

After 16-0 win over Uzbekistan in the Pool A opener, Indian men’s team beats Singapore 16-1 today. Harmanpreet Singh led side next takes on Japan on Thursday.

India’s Divyakriti Singh scores 68.176 in the Dressage Prix St-Georges.

Her compatriot Sudipti Hajela had scored 66.706.

India is currently sixth with two more riders - Hriday Vipul Chheda and Anush Agarwalla - yet to perform.

Men's hockey team is 8-0 up over Singapore in the 3rd Quarter. 

India lead Singapore 1-0 after the end of first Quarter.

It has been a successful couple of days for India in the XIX Asian Games. So, far Rowing, Shooting, Cricket  have proven to be the happy hunting desciplines for India and more are expected to be added today. On Day 3, a total of 4 medal events for India are scheduled.
