Nakai Asuma finished the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup season on a high with a thumping victory in Round 8 in Sakarya, Turkey, on Sunday, as he was also crowned U23 World Cup champion.

Going in to the weekend, Asuma held an unassailable lead in the overall standings, but clearly wanted to finish in style as he set a blistering pace to win in 34.190 seconds.

Giacomo Gargaglia was second, while Mathijn Bogaert crossed third.

Asuma rocketed out of the gate and through the first turn with determination. Setting a lightning pace with Leonardo Cantiero on his wheel.

The Italian lost control on the second berm, crashing and leaving Asuma with a clear lead over the remainder of the field.

He screamed as he crossed the line, collecting another 150 points to top the championship standings with 810, while Wannes Magdelijns was runner up with 500 and Cristhian Castro Cevallos had 485.
